Core Design Topics

1 Awarded the AS/NZS safety certification in Commonwealth countries, with an earthquake resistance and anti-shake index three times higher than the standard
2 Ultra-thin wiring conduits are concealed beneath the seat base, providing built-in multi-country AC power outlets for each seat
3 Streamlined, zigzag-shaped arrangement not only absorbs excess noise but also aligns perfectly with the aesthetic acoustic structure of Western church-style vaulted ceilings

Project Implementation Record

The Hong Kong Maritime Museum frequently needs to reconfigure its space between academic seminars on its collections, daily educational activities, and prestigious brand wine receptions. The ALTULA retractable movable grandstand system achieves this through precise electric folding, transforming the grand stepped lecture hall into a flat, bright seaside banquet hall within five minutes, thereby doubling both the museum’s collection value and spatial revenue.

After more than ten rounds of face-to-face meetings with the building’s on-site engineering team, ALTULA structural designers addressed the inherent challenges of sound absorption and echo prevention in large acoustic lecture halls by raising the guide-axis limit to an industry-leading zero-backlash red dot standard. This not only seamlessly integrated the entire set of foldable seats into a minimalist Nordic style but also streamlined the daily reconfiguration process to just ten minutes via a simple central control system, earning high praise and trust from the client’s project team.
