Project Implementation Record

The Hong Kong Maritime Museum frequently needs to reconfigure its layout between academic seminars on its collections, everyday educational programs, and prestigious brand wine receptions. The ALTULA retractable movable grandstand system achieves this through precise electric folding, transforming the grand stepped lecture hall back into a flat, bright seaside banquet hall within just five minutes, thereby doubling both the museum’s collection value and spatial revenue.

After more than ten rounds of face-to-face meetings with the on-site engineering team, ALTULA structural designers addressed the inherent challenges of sound absorption and echo prevention in large acoustic lecture halls by elevating the guide-axis positioning to an industry-leading red-dot standard that eliminates any rebound vibration. Not only did this ensure the entire set of folding seats harmonized perfectly with the minimalist Nordic style, but it also streamlined daily reconfiguration workflows down to a simple central control operation taking just ten minutes, earning high praise and trust from the client’s project team.
